Ulligamma, 27, from Hyderabad, has coped with a 90% Locomotor Disability since childhood due to a health issue. Unable to attend school because of health problems and physical dependency even she didn’t give up. Instead, she learned the basics of writing, reading, and computer skills through YouTube. Now, she is writing a novel using the Prathi Lipi app. She also learned tailoring and beautician skills, overcoming societal judgments, She started her tailoring and saree business at home with a capital of 20,000 rupees, with her mother’s support. Due to a lack of business knowledge and marketing skills, she faced losses. Moreover, customers paid very little for her tailoring services because she operated from home without proper setup. When she approached bankers for financial support, they underestimated her due to her disability. She approached DEHUB to start her tailoring shop. After ten months she trained under the DEHUB entrepreneurship development program, and now she come up with an innovative idea i.e. adaptive clothing boutique for PwDs, pregnant women, and transgenders. In the DEHUB launch Pad event, she is going to pitch her idea in front of investors. After this pitching session, she is looking for seed funding for kick-start support.
